We are upgrading our Sui Testnet infrastructure to testnet-v1.82.2 on 2026-10-21. This release introduces Protocol Version 139 with significant storage fee reductions (non-refundable storage fee cut from 1% to 0.01% of the storage rebate), ML- signature support across gRPC and SDK, and improvements to random-beacon DKG resilience. The JSONRPC service has been removed from full nodes. Brief interruptions to RPC availability may occur on that date.
RPC Changes: - ExecuteTransaction — Now accepts and verifies ML- signatures and multisig members via the new SignatureScheme::MLDSA65 variant. - VerifySignature — Now verifies ML- signatures. - SimulateTransaction — When enable-simulate-allowed-proposers is on, returned transactions are restricted to allowed proposers only for clients sending an x-sui-client-protocol-version header of 136 or higher. - SubscribeTransactions — Now fills effects object types, clever errors, and event json when the read mask requests them, matching GetTransaction behavior. - SubscribeCheckpoints — Now fills effects object types, clever errors, and event json when the read mask requests them, matching GetTransaction behavior. - ListTransactions — Requests below the node's retention now return OUT_OF_RANGE instead of INTERNAL. - ListEvents — Requests below the node's retention now return OUT_OF_RANGE instead of INTERNAL. - SubscribeTransactions and SubscribeCheckpoints subscription resume — Resuming with after/afterCheckpoint no longer replays checkpoints at or below the resume point when the serving replica's streamed tip lags that point.
