Solana Mainnet: Alpenglow Consensus Upgrade

Scheduled for Oct 21, 14:50 - 17:50 UTC

Scheduled

Solana Mainnet is switching to Alpenglow, Solana's new consensus protocol (SIMD-0326). The Solana developers at Anza plan to turn it on Wednesday, October 21, around 14:50 UTC.

**What this means for you**
- This change applies to Solana Mainnet. Testnet and Devnet already run Alpenglow and are not affected.
- The network may be briefly unstable while the switch-over happens.
- Your Quicknode Solana endpoints stay the same. You don't need to change anything.

**What we're doing**
- Our Solana Mainnet infrastructure already runs Agave v4.3.0.
- We're pausing all planned maintenance on Solana Mainnet during the upgrade window.
- Our team will actively monitor the network during and after the switch-over, and we'll post updates here if we see any impact.

**Try Alpenglow now**
If you want to check how your application behaves under Alpenglow before it reaches Mainnet, it's already live on Solana Testnet and Devnet.
